Professional Services Group (PSG) profile and work summary

Konekt’s specialised Professional Services Group works with organisations to provide expert advice and implement solutions that address issues with respect to workplace safety, incident management, and claims management.

The Professional Services Group draws on the resources and skills of Konekt’s most senior and experienced consultants to address the unique requirements of the customer and the situation they are facing. The Professional Services Group consultants are based in a number of locations nationally.

Some of the recent Professional Service Group projects include:

  • Development of procedure and learning material for a financial institution on agile work environments, telecommuting and laptop ergonomics
  • Provision of post-incident response and early intervention program to a national transport company
  • Development and delivery of a national return to work coordinator training program
  • Hazardous manual tasks risk assessment followed by training on effective control of risks identified
  • Physical and cognitive job role analysis within a community agency to support both pre-employment and return to work activities
  • Ergonomic assessment pre office fit-out to provide recommendations on ideal equipment/furniture specifications, assembly of working environments and recommended work practices with the aim of mitigating risks associated with work design, workstation set-up, posture and rate/repetition of tasks or job processes.

Professional Services Group Consultants

psg1The Professional Services Group is managed by Pippa Rose.
Pippa has tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and Occupational Health and Safety, and has worked in the injury and safety management industry for 15 years. She is qualified as an AS/NZ 4801:2001 lead auditor and has worked as a workers compensation and injury management specialist for both WorkSafe agents and national employers. These skills are used in consulting and overseeing the development and integration of workplace risk solutions, injury and workers compensation claims management. A few of the other members of the Professional Services Group are profiled below.

Mary Vetere, Lead Consultant/ Ergonomist

psg2With over 10 years’ experience in injury management, ergonomics,and work, health and safety (WHS), Mary brings a wealth of expertise in the provision of specialised ergonomics and WHS consultancy. Mary has tertiary qualifications in occupational therapy, ergonomics and WHS. Additionally she is experienced in the provision of AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System audits, both in the planning, implementation and review phases. Mary is experienced in technical and strategic risk assessment, risk management, training development and analysis of WHS system performance for review at management and board level.

She has worked with companies in a variety of sectors (financial services, defence, fund management, government departments, retail, healthcare, food and beverage, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals), providing a systematic, disciplined approach to the evaluation of WHS practices, ergonomic design, risk management frameworks, and WHS regulatory compliance.

Paul Korchok, Managing Consultant

psg3Paul has tertiary qualifications in physiotherapy and nine years clinical experience in this area. He recently completed a Cert IV in Personal Injury Management and has over four years industry experience in injury prevention and management. Paul has a particular interest in strategic incident and claims management and is currently engaged as an outsourced workers compensation and return to work advisor for two national employers focussed on incident management, positive return to work outcomes, and claims cost minimisation. Paul has expertise in the development and provision of return to work coordination training, specialised ergonomic assessments and task analyses.

Mitchell Scully, Area Manager

psg4Mitchell is an accredited Exercise Physiologist who also holds a Master of Workplace Health & Safety. Mitchell specialises in proactive and collaborative hazard and incident management with an interest in injury prevention and minimisation
of lost time at work following injuries. Mitchell is detailed and systematic in his approach, using evidence-based methodology when developing and implementing risk management strategies and safety consulting services. Mitchell has extensive experience in the coordination, development and delivery of safety training packages and a special interest in ergonomic office design/pre fit-out with a view to eliminate hazards at the design stage.

Mark McKibbin, Local Area Manager

psg5Mark is skilled in developing, implementing and managing risk management solutions, including the provision of desk top audits, workplace inspections and tailored Work Health and Safety (WHS) system delivery. With qualifications in occupational therapy and WHS, Mark has experience in preventative injury management, task analysis, risk assessments, development of safe work method statements and delivery of WHS training, particularly in the area of eliminating risk associated with hazardous manual tasks.
