Sandvik is a high-technology engineering group in tooling, materials technology, mining and construction with representation in more than 130 countries.
Sandvik began conducting pre-employment assessments with Konekt in 2011 and in July 2012 they began using the trial version of JobScreen. Sandvik undertake approximately 500 assessments per year and since they began using JobScreen they have completed more than 300 assessments.
When considering JobScreen Sandvik did have some reservations about the impact to applicants. “What if they couldn’t complete the assessment online, would it be difficult to use, would there be complaints about length of time to complete the questionnaire? However, we have found almost all assessments are completed online. Users have found the system user friendly and convenient to complete. For those who are unable to complete the questionnaire online the Konekt team offer assistance” said Vanessa Taylor, HR Shared Service Centre Manager, Sandvik Group, Australia Pacific.
The use of JobScreen has seen the time to complete assessments reduce by 27% from approximately 5 days to 3.5 days. The time lag between completed assessment and the provision of the report has reduced by 65%.
