Injured Worker Redeployment

Where an injured worker is unable to return to their pre-injury employment, the stress on the individual and ongoing workers compensation premiums for the employer can be costly.

To assist injured workers in returning to the workforce as well as minimising the impact of unemployment, we’ve developed a series of one-on-one and group programs – Employment Konektions - that assists in identifying the capabilities of the injured, in addition to developing new and specialised skill sets.

Vocational Assessment and Counselling

If it is determined that a worker is unable to fulfil the inherent requirement of their pre-injury position, a vocational assessment can be conducted to determine if an alternate position is available within the company. The Vocational Assessment assists in the identification of realistic vocational options through the analysis of transferable skills, taking into consideration the worker’s restrictions, functional limitation, work capacity, education and the assessment of labour market information for new employer cases.

Transferable Skills Assessment

A Transferable Skills Assessment is based purely on an individual’s skills acquired through their employment history, education and vocational pursuits. It is aimed at ascertaining what skills an individual has which can be transferred to other roles within a business or in some cases other employment in new industries.

Job Skills Program - Skills4Work

Skills4Work focuses on the development of job seeking knowledge and practical skills over a 2 week group program. Attendance requirements are 2 hours a day, 3 days a week. A report is provided at the end of the program detailing the client’s participation, skill level and any barriers identified.

Clients complete the program with a current resume, personalised cover letter, a job search manual, and the knowledge and skills they need to commence active job seeking.

‘Get Konekted’

‘Get Konekted’ is a 13 week intensive job search program, combining job search skill development with practical and supported job seeking assistance. The aim of this program is for participants to secure suitable employment.

Participants can complete the 2 week Job Skills Workshop - Skills4Work, prior to the course if suitable. This is then followed by 13 weeks of structured job seeking assistance where participants are assisted to identify, then apply for positions and to stay motivated.

This program is beneficial to employees seeking redeployment as it is recognised that job seeking is not just about knowing what to do, it is about doing it – applying for jobs and speaking with employers, with the support and supervision to develop and maintain these specialised skills.

Individual Job Search Program

Konekt’s individual job search program facilitates a Return to Work (RTW) outcome with a new employer and provides injured workers with the skills they need to find new employment.

Benefits of this approach include one-on-one job seeking assistance and the provision of a tailored program to meet specific needs of the individual with barriers.

Work Trial Canvassing

Work Trial Canvassing involves contacting local employer groups to secure a Work Trial Placement for workers in addition to potentially identifying new employers. A Work Trial is a form of work experience with a host employer.

A Work Trial enables the worker to acquire skills within an alternate vocational area, and increase the opportunities to gain employment within a new industry.

Job Placement Program

The Job Placement Program utilises government assisted schemes which assist injured workers back into the workforce, while providing financial incentives to employers for hiring injured workers.
