Rehabilitation and return to work coordinator training QLD

Rehabilitation and return to work coordinator training provides participants with an understanding of the role, functions and responsibilities of a rehabilitation and return to work coordinator in relation to the Queensland jurisdiction.

Training content

As a participant, you will be trained by skilled and knowledgeable industry professionals who are current in their understanding of the return to work landscape.

Our trainers have extensive experience to share with you from their own experiences working with employers, injured workers and medical providers within the return to work scheme.

Group participation within a supportive environment is a key component of our training.

Participants are able to share their own experiences and learn from other participants, which assists in problem solving common issues that arise.

You will walk away from the training confident in your knowledge and in your ability to be an effective rehabilitation and return to work coordinator within your organisation.

  • Relevant return to work scheme
  • Roles and responsibilities of the coordinator
  • Preparing the workplace
  • When injuries occur – a step-by-step guide including identifying
    barriers, facilitators and return to work plans

Did you know?

An employer must appoint a rehabilitation and return to work coordinator if those who employ workers at a workplace in a high-risk industry and the wages of the employer in Queensland for the preceding financial year were more than 2600 times QOTE not in a high-risk industry, the wages of the employer in Queensland for the preceding financial year were more than 5200 times Queensland full-time adult’s ordinary time earnings (QOTE).

As a participant in this program you will build a sound knowledge of:

  • Your role as a rehabilitation and return to work coordinator
  • Obligations under the applicable legislation within the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003
  • Preventative actions your organisation can take to avoid injuries in the workplace
  • Strategies and actions you can take, in a step-by-step format, to help you in supporting injured workers to remain at or return to work
  • Communication required to achieve positive results when working with doctors and medical providers
  • The supports available to you as a rehabilitation and return to work coordinator

Once the program is completed, participants are awarded a certificate and are recognised as a rehabilitation and return to work coordinator.

Training schedule

8.50am: Sign-in
9.00am: Welcome/introductions
11.00am: Morning tea (15 minutes)
12.30pm: Lunch (30 minutes)
2.45pm: Afternoon tea (15 minutes)
4.30pm: Finish
